  1. Policy-based scheduling automates creation and management (including retention and deletion) of AWS-native snapshots for Amazon EC2, Amazon RDS and Amazon EFS
  2. Image-based backup created from native snapshots and tiered to low-cost Amazon S3 object storage. Dynamic workers* to perform these operations are instantiated and terminated automatically
  3. Backups can also be tiered to Amazon S3 Glacier and S3 Glacier Deep Archive to further lower costs while still achieving retention and compliance requirements
  4. Amazon VPC settings are backed up to the Veeam Backup for AWS appliance database
  5. Amazon VPC settings can be automatically copied to Amazon S3

*Deploying Veeam workers into a dedicated backup account (the same as where the appliance is deployed) separates your backup operations from your production operations. An issue in production should never interfere with your backups
